Vancouver-based photographer Spencer Kovats took portraits of 30 inked men and women before and after they had peeled back layers of clothing and juxtaposed the two images side-by-side. One man, who appears to be in his mid-thirties, is seen wearing jeans and a dress shirt in his first image but in his second he is shirtless, proudly displaying a previously hidden patchwork of tribal designs on his torso, neck and arms. I too wish I had researched more in depth the other doc's wives blogs out there - I would have come up with a much more clever blog title. This girl is also a real person, not a caricature of a cult member, and even if the ultimate result is a breakup, she deserves to be treated with compassion and respect.
