I have been breastfeeding for nearly 5 years. I started back in April of with my eldest Hans for example and am now tandem feeding with my newborn, River. Breastfeeding for me is so special because It immediately created an unbreakable bond that I am able to share with my children. Hans is autistic and this is the one thing that comforts him the most, it makes him feel safe. Nothing else comes close to being able to calm and soothe him, the way I can when I feed him.

Ivette Ivens Photography. When Ivette Ivens was 13, she knew she wanted to be a photographer. Like so many of us before we become mothers, she had no idea that her career -- in fact, her entire life -- would be changed by motherhood. That's why her work, and upcoming book, focuses on breastfeeding, showing mothers nursing in natural spaces to capture how beautiful and normal breastfeeding is. Now an acclaimed baby photographer and a breastfeeding advocate, Ivette has shot thousands of moms who want to take a stand against the stigma of breastfeeding. These are women who were told that what they are doing is gross, inappropriate, or downright wrong. As you'll see in her pictures, Ivens has completely proven her critics wrong, creating ethereal images of motherhood that could be in a museum.
But these powerful, beautiful, sometimes raw images of women breastfeeding their babies are proof of the strength, determination and love that moms from across the country have for their newborns. This beautiful bride took the to-have-and-to-hold part of her wedding vows to a whole new level as she nursed her new baby boy mid-ceremony. That can be especially true for babies with Down syndrome, whose poor muscle tone may interfere with a good latch. Christian Serratos, who plays the butt-kicking, zombie-destroying Rosita in The Walking Dead, took to Instagram to put breastfeeding-shamers in their place. So I will post what I want, when I want. With well over , likes, it looks a lot of people are cheering her on. When Maya Vorderstrasse shared this photo on Instagram , she was floored by the response of over 11, likes. She writes about her struggle to nurse both at the same time. Just love them and do the best you can. To me, fed is best.
